Quotes and Sayings: Wisdom in a few words.

For as long as I remember, quotes have being a interest to me.

I don't know if it is the short and simple way to transmit wisdom, or that some quotes just make you think a lot, other times you never understand until something happens in your life that gives them a meaning.

At the end, a quote will remain simple and sometimes as a mystery.

I'm going to present some of my favorite quotes, some of them have an author and some of them are just social wisdom that as pass from generation to generation, an the original authors are now part of the quote.

(YOU ARE MORE THAN WELCOME TO SHARE MORE QUOTES OR SHARE THE MEANING YOU GIVE TO THEM).

"Sharing is Caring"

This sentence does not have an author or someone who can be coined for it, that is also the beauty about it. In my personal opinion it is very powerful because it doesn't need to much to think about it and it can get in the toughest heart.

I'm surprised but this quote is not famous in English as I thought, in Spanish is a very common quote.

In my opinion it means that, even if you have an advice from someone else, you will not get his/her knowledge by imagining that experience, you need to have it on your own to truly understand it and accomplish your own personal growth.

-Pythagoras-

This quote is from one of the many great minds that come from the ancient Greece, I'm talking about Pythagoras great mathematician, mystic and scientist, and he is best known for the Pythagorean theorem  which bears his name. Pythagoras was an awaken person with the awareness of those who change the world.

In my opinion we have to take this quote as a duty, children are the future but also the present. And as a person that loves children I share this idea and find it very useful.

Childhood is a very important episode of the journey and adventure of life. This quote and my love for children has making me thought in becoming a elementary school teacher for a period of time. Educating Montessori system (but that, i will leave it for another post).

To be honest in this moment I don't know much about Goethe, I'm saying this because I'm not closing the possibility of diving in his knowledge.
He is one of the founders of the romanticism movement, he was a poet, a scientist a writer in a few words a men of many talents.

The quote has many variants but at the end, all of them mean the same, music is a universal language, it goes further than any word any expression any interpretation.

Music is life, dead, love, inspiration, sadness, happiness and many other things.

For me, music could be a moment of relaxation, dancing, a tool to get my emotions out MEDICINE.
A way to know someone else better and having something to bound with.

This quote come from one of the most brightest minds of the twenty century, Einstein is well know for his ¨Relativity Theory¨, but more than that I will ad that he was very aware of the situation in that time.
He has several quotes most of them great teachings.

I chose this one because there is a great story related to that.

First time I saw this quote was in a video made for a contest to win a full scholarship in my actual school, VFS (Vancouver Film School). The video was made by a Bolivian-Mexican guy Jorge R Canedo Strada that actually end wining the scholarship. HERE is the video.

To make the story shorter I end studying in Vancouver, so Im grateful and happy.

TICK TICK TICK TICK

Here is a short story I wrote in high school

Tick tick tick tick tick tick ...... the alarm is ringing and my mother opens the door , reaches out to the bureau , which is on my left side, she and off. She holds me by the shoulders and leans me forward to get up, when sited on the edge of the bed, she leaves me a minute to bring the container in which my urine remains. (After a while ) she call my brother, he lifts me out of bed, my mother opens the door meanwhile my brother still carry me , on entering the hall last door  he remains holding me with determination, as she removes all my and put me in the tub , with a flick of the wrist my mother turns the knob.
Each drop hits my body, starting with my head and running down to my face, it has been a while since my body does not feel the softness of her touch, the delicacy of his movements and especially the peace that this gives. Who would think something so small become so indispensable. Now, I just think about the tub getting fill and for some reason my mother remember me.

Tick tick tick tick tick tick ...... I open my eyes without any rush, I extend my hand clutched the bureau, which is the right side of my bed and turned off the alarm. I stretch my limbs, I lean forward slightly lifting my head, tired and sleepy, I go to the bathroom as normally I do, I urinate and I am about to take a shower.
On the way to school nothing seems different, same people waiting at the bus stop, same people selling newspapers and I at the side of my mother waiting to get on time. Once in the car I look at a man with a black suit, pale and bald head. He is looking at me and pointing at me, I turn my head back, he is gone.
When we wait for the last traffic light, the pale bald head is just across the street, with a blank expression he still pointing at me, finally the green arrow appears, and my mother turn left.

( After a while ) she call my brother, he lifts me out of bed, my mother opens the door meanwhile my brother still carry me , on entering the hall last door  he remains holding me with determination, as she removes all my and put me in the tub , with a flick of the wrist my mother turns the knob.
The sun is up, its glowing light illuminates my face, sitting in the same chair as always with my wet hair as every morning, I watch through the window, and as usual, the street remains quiet and beyond that, the traffic and bustle of the city continue creating more chaos.

My mother bursts into the room, take a book and leaves, everything has changed, is aggressive, sometimes very explosive, defects of which I was a creditor when I was angry, I don’t blame her, she also got marked, now everywhere she goes, she use sunglasses even in the night, just to cover the scar on her right eye, even with me she wear hem, I know she doesn’t want me to see her crying and even less the guilt that she feels when she everyday sees me.
But I remember that view and I will like to see it again

The only person I talk to now,is the man who pointed me that day. Since then it has been the only person with whom I spoke to.
I know who he is, and he knows that I know
Now I just wait, wait until the alarm never ring again and the bald-head men takes me by the hand.

The Importance of Poetry

Today I'm going to write about another thing that really passionate me about, that thing is poetry.

Although I don't know much about poetry, specially in english, I like to read it and I think about it as a way to get into you as a retrospection.
As a Dyslexic sometimes is difficult for me to read (not impossible) that's way I enjoy deep and short forms of writing. I found poetry as a scape from big text or a more accurate arrow to your soul.
And like any art form, in my opinion is GREAT MEDICINE.

Nest I'm going to show you some of my favorite poets and poems.

One of the poets with whom I had contact first was:

Mario Benedetti a Uruguayan journalist that knew how to contact with all the people from all the different spheres of society. A mirror of his time.

Here a example from him:

My tactic is to look at you

To learn how you are

Love you as you are

My tactic is to talk to you

And listen to you

And construct with words

An indestructible bridge

My tactic is to stay in your memory,

I don't know how

Nor with what pretext

But stay within you

My tactic is to be honest

And know you are too

And that we don't sell each other illusions

So that between us there is no curtain or abyss

My strategy instead is

Deeper and simpler.

My strategy is that some day

I don't know how, nor with what pretext

That finally you need me.

-- Mario Benedetti (translated by Chris Kraul)

Another great poet that i find incredible and not just because is Mexican is Jaime Sabines  i found is writing incredibly accurate to produce emotions.

Here an example from him:

The lovers fall silent.
Love is the finest, the most shuddering,
the most unendurable, silence.
The lovers seek,
they are the ones who relinquish,
those who change, who forget.
Their hearts tell them that what they look for,
what they seek, they will not find.

The lovers go around like lunatics
because they are alone, alone, alone;
yielding, giving themselves up at every turn,
crying because they can’t hold on to their love.
Love obsesses them. The lovers live
for today; knowing little else, it’s all they can do.
They are always going,
forever heading elsewhere.
They wait—
for nothing, but they wait.
For what they know they’ll never find.
Love is a perpetual prolongation,
always the next, no, the following, step.
The lovers are incorrigible,
those who always—good for them!—have to be alone.

With serpents for arms, the lovers
are the hydra of the tale;
their neck-veins, too, swell up, serpent-
like, in order to throttle them.
The lovers cannot sleep,
for if they did the worms would devour them.

They open their eyes in the darkness
and terror seizes them.

They see scorpions beneath the sheets
and their bed floats as though on a lake.

The lovers are mad, stone mad,
forsaken of God and Satan.

Trembling and famished,
the lovers come out of their caves
to hunt ghosts.
They laugh at those who know everything,
at those who love forever, heart and soul,
those who believe in love as in an lamp filled with inexhaustible oil.

The lovers play at gathering water,
at tattooing smoke, at going nowhere;
they play the long, sorrowful game of love.
You don’t have to give in;
no one has to give in, they say.
The thought of conforming with anything mortifies them.

Hollowed out (picked clean from one rib to the next),
Death gradually distills behind their eyes,
and they cry and wander, adrift, until daybreak,
when trains and roosters bid their painful farewell.

Sometimes, the smells of damp earth, of women
who sleep, soothed, a hand between their thighs,
of trickling water, and of kitchens, reaches them,
and the lovers begin to sing between pursed lips
a song never learned.
And they go on crying, crying for

this beautiful life.

And from Lebanon Gibran Khalil Gibran I discover this guy in the right moment, like any good book it founds you at the right moment. here I was reading "The Madmen" in crazy times in my life. it was the Medicine and the Catharsis i was needing. You can also find the link to the book on my links.

Here one of my favorites:

How I became a Madmen

You ask me how I became a madman. It happened thus: One day, long before many gods were born, I woke from a deep sleep and found all my masks were stolen,-the seven masks I have fashioned an worn in seven lives,-I ran maskless through the crowded streets shouting, “Thieves, thieves, the cursed thieves.”

Men and women laughed at me and some ran to their houses in fear of me.

And when I reached the market place, a youth standing on a house-top cried, “He is a madman.” I looked up to behold him; the sun kissed my own naked face for the first time. For the first time the sun kissed my own naked face and my soul was inflamed with love for the sun, and I wanted my masks no more. And as if in a trance I cried, “Blessed, blessed are the thieves who stole my masks.”

Thus I became a madman.

And I have found both freedom of loneliness and the safety from being understood, for those who understand us enslave something in us.

But let me not be too proud of my safety. Even a Thief in a jail is safe from another thief.

Here where some examples of the poetry I like i hope you funded interesting, emotional, intelligent or MEDICINAL.

LAST BUT NOT LEAST A POEM BY MYSELF

 Spirits of the Woods

And as the time go, your heat, your toughs are in a different wave.
All the things you take for granted are taking another form, they are more complex but at the same time they are part of everything and so are YOU.

So in that second/minute/hour, you realize that all the time, you were another part of this HUGE MACHINE, and if you do something, this action is gonna have repercussions in all the UNIVERSE.

YOU ARE PART OF THE COSMIC MACHINE

As is Up, is Down.

The universe is a representation of the universe inside you.

YOU ARE THE CHOSEN ONE, YOU ARE THE ONE
YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL.
YOU ARE ALIVE.

The power of the MOUTH

It was the summer of 2012, I was in chilling in my friend place after a day in the beach.

We where listening to music when he diced to show me a different style of music that I never hear before he tab on YouTube MC Xander and I started hearing what I thought; and  I think it is the music of the future. I was stunned by how easy he made it look like, the bits the bass everything
sounded very well I even start dancing.

MC Xander "Sick Of The Lies"

After that incredible song, he show another artist, the one that will became an example for me, one that I identified with.

Dub FX, it was love at first listen. I liked it more than Xander because his message was based in love instead of fighting against the system. In my opinion to change the world, we have first, to change ourselves, and Dub FX sing about this.

 Dub FX "Love Someone"

The song kept in my mind, but i never downloaded after.
Some weeks later we heard that he was coming to Vancouver, a friend also told me that he post a Facebook and a Twitter message saying that he was going to present on Grandville.
As a street performer he was going to do it for free.

So me and my friends decide to go an listen to him.
During the street performance i actually sing with him (very badly) but it remains in my mind as an experience that i will repeat, alone or with him.

Dub FX "Ghostbusters Theme" Vancouver 2012

That same night we went to his concert it was a crazy experience there i realize the power that our generation have, without all the social networking Dub FX would be looking labels. But our moderns times are not just about destruction and the revelation of governments management, is about spreading LOVE and ART as a medicine, at least that is what i feel and think.

Another think that grab my attention was Flower Fairy the partner, lover and companion of Dub Fx they travel together and sing together. that just remind me a quote that said:

"Every great man walk with a great women beside him"

After the concert I start listening  to him,  learning the lyrics that are powerful writing, i saw myself in him and all the things that someone can accomplish if one acts with the heart. I found that he was seeking a label before but no one take him really seriously.

So now in the 2013 Dub FX (real name Benjamin Stanford) his making a campaign to lunch his new album and what his the difference with it, that we can be the producers of it, by paying any certain quantities and acquiring certain kind of things depending the quantity given. This is called crowd founding, is not a new format is just beginning to get common.

I found this amazing, we are in the new era.

New Album "Theory Of Harmony" Pledge Campaign

WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR, TO BEGIN YOUR JOURNEY.

Dance as a Catharsis

Dance as a Catharsis

I  have always found dancing as a form of cathartic release, so I gave myself the task to find way and how I do it.

First of all,  WHAT IS DANCING????

A dictionary definition will say:

To move one's feet or body, or both, rhythmically in a pattern of steps, especially to the accompaniment of music.

But that definition don't describe ether the feelings or the energy that somebody feels when is moving with the rhythm of the bit. Or all the things that you can get rid off by the simple action of fallowing your intuition and own rhythm.

In my opinion:
Dancing is the connection between yourself awareness and conciseness freedom.

 How to Dance???

In this case it depends from a number of factors, I chose 2 of them: Music and Style.

Music

Traditionally to dance you need music, unless you are trying to accomplish a new form of experimental dance. Having said that, Music and Dance are faces of the same coin.
Whether you hear heavy metal or techno in some way you have to move if you enjoy the music. Your body demands it. There is no scape from it unless you are a rock.

Here some examples of the music i like to dance.

Techno: This genre was introduced completely to me the last year by a brother from another mother, so I'm steel very new in it.
I don't know how to differentiate one style from the other.

 Steve Summers "Lands of Mind"

Salsa: It could be a cliche but as a Latin American guy i really enjoy salsa and all the sensuality that comes with it.

Chi Peralta "Procura"

I enjoy more forms of music but this ones are my examples.

Style

Certain music comes with a style to dance it but that is not constrained to a specific style for a specific music. You can easily have some salsa moves and listen to techno or electronic music.
Here some examples of styles that I enjoy dancing (I'm not a expert, It should be noted)

Popping: This style is about popping parts of your body to make it look robotic.

Crip Walk or Cwalk: This style is characterized for the movement of the feet with intricate and fast moves.

This are the to styles that i like and i learn with some friends. There are many others but this are the ones i know.

Last but not least the main purpose of dance in my opinion, is to achieve a state of mental freedom and corporal relaxation, this could be translate as meditation. Yes dance is a meditation.

"When you dance, dont think if you are doing it well or not, JUST DO IT"

MY WELCOME

Here I Am!!!

Has a first blog post, I sincerely don't know what to post, so Im just going to present myself in a briefly way.

My complete name is Cesar Daniel De Alba Razo I was born and raise in the blessed state of JALISCO specifically in the city of Guadalajara. I had a very nice childhood full of games and imaginary adventures, that still goes on but in real life.

Has a child I was and still very hyperactive something that i find useful, cause my battery has more capacity than the average person, but sometimes having so much energy and dont finding a thing to canalize all of that, can drive you crazy.

I found very interesting the juxtaposition of leaving in Canada and leaving in Mexico. I love both of this countries accepting their differences and understanding their similarities.

I really like to dive in another culture when im living in another city. To go and see the most beautiful place of that areas or the most ugly ones; at the end both of them share something in comun.

Trying to be as inclusive as I can is the best way I have found to know better the people, the city, the nature and MYSELF.
